As yet another year is coming to an end, our team at Compliplus decided to come up with, and share a few checklist items and advices on what to do before closing your business for the exciting holiday season.
6 Checks Before Heading Out
1 Complete a Safety Audit
Before you head out for the holidays, take a quick stroll around the office to check and fix any potential hazards. Check for things like loose or exposed wires, blocked exits, or unnecessary clutter. A quick safety audit now means fewer worries while you’re enjoying your well-earned break.
2 Turn off Electrical devices and equipment
Switch off and unplug all non-essential devices—think computers, printers, and lights. Not only does this minimise the risk of fire, but it also saves the energy (and money!) while helping make the planet just a little bit greener.
3 Let your Customers and Clients know
It’s important to let people know you are taking a few days off and your business will NOT be operational during the holiday season. A short and sweet post across your socials like LInkedIn or Facebook should get the job done. Make sure to include the closing and reopening date and emergency contacts. just in case something bad happens and clients need your urgent attention.
4 Final Clean up
Before you and your team head out for the year, tidy things up just one last time. Let’s be honest—nobody wants to return to the office with cluttered desks, random documents everywhere, and that one photo of the always-absent employee still staring back at you from their monitor.
5 Communicate the return date
As silly as it might sound, make sure you communicate the official return to work date, nobody wants to kick off the new year with half the team missing because they though holiday lasted a little bit longer.
6 Lock up the place and head home
And final and most important thing to do before heading home to your family and loved ones, CHECK THE LOCKS. Give all the doors, windows, and gates a good check. Test alarms, cameras, and anything else that keeps the workplace safe. A secure space means you can truly relax and enjoy the festivities!
Conclusion
With this final checklist item, we’d like to wrap up this short (and hopefully helpful) blog by saying a big thank you to everyone who supported us throughout the year. We can’t wait to return next year and continue working with all of you amazing people!
